• Animal Planet announces new programming line-up

    MUMBAI: Animal Planet has announced its upcoming programming line-up with the launch of a 52-week series titled ?Animal Planet A-Z?.

    Starting 7 January, the show will air every night at 10 pm.

    This line-up of Animal Planet A-Z will take viewers onto a wild expedition that features the details of one particular animal every week, covering from A to Z of varied species. A for Anaconda, B for Bears, C for Crocodiles, D for Dog, E for Elephants and many more - each week will encapsulate the animal?s habitat, nature, wild attacks.

    The programmes will also include aquatic creatures like Fish and untamed participants in the list - the monstrous bugs found in the forests.

    Discovery Networks APAC SVP and GM Rahul Johri said, "Animal Planet A-Z brings a comprehensive hour of ultimate wildlife programming which will appeal to the viewers with its exciting content. With viewers getting multiple choices of entertainment, the best quality programming will get the biggest traction from them."

    Viewers will also join Animal Planet?s renowned wildlife explorers like Nigel Marvin, Jeff Corwin, Dave Salmoni, Austin Steven as they travel to different countries, observing different wildlife.

    MUMBAI: Canadian reality television series World?s Weirdest Restaurants is all set to make its India debut on lifestyle channel TLC beginning 1 January.

    The reality series produced by Paperny Films will air every night at 10 pm on the channel. The series follows host Bob Blumer as he travels the world searching for weird and unusual restaurants.

    From monkeys that serve beer in a Japanese tavern to the pride owners of Dick?s Last Resort take in their bad service, Bob seeks out the most unconventional and unique dining experiences across the world.

    Over 13 episodes World?s Weirdest Restaurants will introduce the viewers to the planet?s 52 most eccentric eateries and their out of box serving and catering styles.

    Bob will peep into the insides of what makes these restaurants so popular, despite of their at times annoying innovation of weirdness. The show will explore more on how with a side order of weirdness; food becomes the secondary part of a dining experience.

    MUMBAI: Discovery Science is all set to premiere a show that features latest and future technologies in the military and the automobile industry.

    Titled ?How Tech Works?, the show will air every night at 9 pm starting 3 December.

    The 13-part series is a journey of the world where audience will get to see the inventors and innovators behind the latest technology.

    ?How Tech Works? introduces an array of fast paced, visually stunning stories including a trip high in the sky with the newest and largest military plane, the A400M, and a journey to the depths of the Pacific Ocean with robots, as they explore previously unreachable parts of the ocean.

    Some of the technological advancements featured in the series are: Quad-Copters (Flying Robots capable of building a 6 meter tall structure), Wikispeed (super fuel efficient car that goes from zero to 60 in five seconds. It can reach a top speed of 143 miles an hour, giving as much as 125 miles per gallon), the new C295 military plane from Spain that can transform from a hospital to a cargo vessel and back to a passenger plane in less time than it takes to book a flight and U-Boat Worx- the Dutch company that makes personal submersibles for two to five people with big acrylic bubbles that give spectacular views under the sea.

    MUMBAI: Lifestyle channel TLC will kick off the show ?Man V Food Nation? on 5 November.

    The show will air every night at 10 pm.

    TV host Adam Richman is back with a new objective. He gives up his seat at the dining table to let a new generation of fans try their hand at conquering their own hometown challenges.

    The show is the follow up to ?Man V. Food? as Adam continues his quest to bring the best eats and food challenges in the US.

    After three years of competition, he is on a mission to recruit people while he continues to showcase popular food joints across the US.

    Since the start of his journey from coast to coast, he has accumulated and inspired a legion of fans that have supported him in the 59 legendary challenges he has faced. On the show not only does he continue to sample the local flavour during his visits on the streets but invites his loyal fans to rise up to the occasion while guiding them during their once-in-a-lifetime chance to make it or break it in various food challenges.
